Who we are
Spire Skylights Coventry ("we", "us") installs and replaces skylights and rooflights in Coventry and the surrounding area. We are the controller of the personal information described here. We have no public premises. You can contact us about this policy by email at info@spireskylightscoventry.co.uk or by phone on 024 7507 0435.
What we collect
- Enquiry details you give us through the survey form, by phone, by email or on WhatsApp: your name, phone number, email address, postcode or address, and what you need.
- Job details we record at the survey and during the work: measurements, photographs of the roof and room, and the quote and invoice.
- Website data: basic technical information your browser sends, such as IP address and pages requested, held in server logs for security.
How we use it and why
- To answer your enquiry, arrange a survey and prepare a quote: steps taken at your request before a contract.
- To carry out and guarantee the work: performance of our contract with you.
- To keep records for tax, accounting and Building Control: legal obligation.
- To keep the website secure and working: our legitimate interests.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for marketing unless you ask us to keep in touch.
Who we share it with
We share only what is needed with: the provider that runs our enquiry form and customer records; building control (the council or a registered building control approver) for notifiable work; manufacturers when registering a product or a product guarantee; and our accountants. WhatsApp messages are handled by WhatsApp under its own terms.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within 12 months. Records of completed work are kept for the length of our guarantee plus one year, and accounting records for six years, as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and ask for it in a portable form. Contact us using the details above; we will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
