The standard we aim for
We build this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. That means, among other things:
- text and controls with enough colour contrast to read comfortably;
- every page usable with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline;
- headings in order, labelled form fields and descriptive link text;
- images described in text, and decorative images hidden from screen readers;
- pages that reflow on small screens and when zoomed to twice their size without scrolling sideways;
- motion reduced when your device asks for reduced motion.
Known limitations
- Our enquiry form is provided by a third party and loads inside the page. The frame is titled for screen readers, but we cannot change the form's own code directly.
- The coverage map on the contact page is a visual aid. The same information is given in text beside it: we cover Coventry and 30 miles around.
